History
Pasikuda's shallow, reef-sheltered bay — its name means 'green-algae bay' in Tamil — was a fashionable resort coast in the 1970s before war and the 1978 cyclone emptied it. Redeveloped as a resort zone after 2009, it and neighbouring Kalkudah are again the east coast's family-swimming capital.
