History
Horton Plains is a 2,100-metre plateau of cloud forest and wet grassland named after a British governor, long used as seasonal hunting grounds before becoming a national park in 1988. Its sheer 870-metre World's End escarpment and Baker's Falls made it the hill country's classic dawn hike, and it is part of the Central Highlands UNESCO site.
